Storie in Fattoria … sbarca a Londra!
Da dove nasce questo bellissimo progetto?
A due anni dalla pubblicazione dei primi libri, abbiamo avuto modo di constatarne l’utilità per sostenere lo sviluppo del linguaggio e quanto siano apprezzati dai bambini.
Da qui è iniziata a nascere l’idea di pubblicarli anche in inglese: abbiamo pensato che potessero avere la stessa funzione anche per i bambini inglesi e che, proprio per la loro struttura così semplice e ridondante, con le immagini ricche di dettagli e particolari che ne facilitano la comprensione, potevano risultare un valido strumento per esporre i bambini italiani ai primi testi in lingua inglese.
Come spesso accade è stata un’intuizione tenuta al caldo nel cuore…finchè un’estate abbiamo conosciuto Edward, un bambino di Londra, che aveva visto i video delle Storie in Fattoria ed era venuto a conoscere i veri protagonisti della fattoria Monte Puro. Lui e Marco hanno fatto subito amicizia. Vedendoli parlare degli animali, della fattoria, dei libri di Marco ci è venuto naturale pensare che sarebbe stato molto bello se la versione in inglese nascesse dalla collaborazione di questi due piccoli, grandi ragazzini.

Doodle-doo the Rooster è la versione inglese del libro "Il gallo Chicchirichì" di Storie in Fattoria.
Un libro per supportare lo sviluppo del linguaggio nei bambini in cui l'inglese è la lingua madre, per i bambini bilingue e per esporre i bambini italiani ad un primo testo in inglese, in cui le frasi semplici e ripetitive e le illustrazioni aiutano la comprensione della storia. Marco started writing stories about the animals in his farmat the age of 8. Laura, his mother, reviewed and edited the texts, enriching them with suitablematerial to support the development of the language. Marco’s creativity, imagination and talenttogether with his mother’s professional expertise have produced three different collections: “FarmTales” (“Storie in Fattoria”), “Tales in the Woods” (“Storie nel Bosco”) and “PrehistoricTales” (“Storie nella Preistoria”).In the summer of 2020 Marco met Edward, an English boy who came to visit Monte Puro Farmand they quickly became good friends. From this came the idea to translate and publish the“Farm Tales” collection in English too. The aim is to support and promote the development oflanguage in children learning English as a first language, in bilingual children and in Italian childrenwho are starting to listen to and read their first texts in English.

Bunny The Rabbit è la versione inglese del libro "Banni il Coniglio" di Storie in Fattoria. CAROLINE THE COW
Caroline the cow è la versione inglese di "La mucca Carolina".
Un libro per far avvicinare i bambini italiani alla lettura dei primi testi inglesi, aiutati dalla semplicità del testo e dalle illustrazioni; consigliato anche per lo sviluppo del linguaggio nei bambini anglofoni.

Mi chiamo Edward Smith e vivo a Londra con la mamma, il papà e la mia sorellina. La mia mamma è Italiana e il mio papà è inglese ed è per questo motivo che sono cresciuto bilingue e ho tradotto i libri del mio amico Marco. Io e Marco ci siamo conosciuti un’estate quando sono andato a visitare la sua bella e divertente fattoria e siamo diventati subito buoni amici.
The Translator
My name is Edward Smith and I live in London with my mum, my dad and my little sister. My mum is Italian and my dad is English which is why I grew up bilingual and translated Marco’s books. Marco and I met in the summer of 2020 when I visited his lovely and fun farm and we immediately became great friends.
